Mezuzot

With an increasing number of named distilleries now offering me wood, I am able to offer custom made mezuzot cases from many different single malt distilleries.  The mezuzah case shown in the header image above was made from an offcut of the whisky barrel wood used when making the chuppah and presented to the bride and groom at their wedding reception.  I was delighted to see that they have now put it up on the front door to their first home together.

Custom sizes of mezuzot cases are possible as different sizes of scroll may need to be placed into them.  The donation requested will reflect the time taken to prepare the item and any particular request for specific distillery casks, if available.  Expected donations to one of the listed charities will start at a minimum of £40 for standard bourbon casks from unnamed distilleries and more for named distilleries. I would be delighted to discuss your individual requirements and make something special for you.

This mezuzah was made from an offcut of the chuppah shown and presented to the bride and groom for their first home together. This has now been put in place in their new home.

One of two very special large mezuzot cases made for someone building a new home in Israel.  These cases were made to hold a mezuzah scroll 21cm in height.  The starting point was to use a stave (side piece) from a Tamdhu sherry cask.  At the top you can clearly see a slot which held the lid of the cask.  I have since been asked to make many mezuzot like this from many different distillery sourced woods.

My first mezuzah case made from wood donated by the Macallan distillery cooperage.  This was made from a cask end as can clearly be seen at the top of the case.  This is a case you just love to touch when entering the room!
